Running the service

Services

Create and organize a service, build its running order in the Edit screen, and keep it in sync with the web.

This page covers the Services screen where you manage services and templates, the Edit screen's layout and toolbar, and how a service stays in sync with KERYX Web.

#The Services screen

Open it from the toolbar's Services icon (a folder), or automatically when KERYX has no service loaded yet. It has two lists side by side.

#Services

Action How
Create New Service — set a Title and Date, then Create
Open Click Open on a service row
Edit title/date The pencil icon, Edit title / date
Duplicate The copy icon, Duplicate into next Sunday — copies the item structure into a new dated service
Delete The trash icon, Delete service — permanent
Save as a template The template icon, Save as template — keeps just the item structure, not the songs' content
Import from Planning Center Import from Planning Center, top right — pick an upcoming plan and KERYX builds a service from it. See Planning Center for how songs and readings get matched.

Each row shows the service's date, title, item count, and a status chip: Draft, Ready, Live, or Done.

#Templates

A template is a saved item structure you can reuse. Use applies a template to a new service (pick a title and date); the ✕ deletes a template.

Tip: If your church runs the same shape of service most weeks (welcome → songs → message → response), save it as a template once and apply it every week instead of rebuilding the order from scratch.

#The Edit screen

This is where you build the running order and where you actually run the service — there's no separate "go live" screen. Opening or creating a service takes you here.

#Toolbar

Button What it does

Hover over any icon button to see its name.

#Layout regions

The screen is three resizable, reorderable panels (drag the edge to resize; use Panels & layout to reorder or hide the side panels — the center panel can't be hidden):

  1. Service Order (left) — the running order for this service. Each row shows its position number, title, and item type, with drag handle, move up/down, and remove controls.
  2. Live Output / Stream Preview (center) — two stacked previews:
    • Live Output · Projector — exactly what the projector shows, with Black and Logo override buttons above it.
    • Stream Preview · Program — the camera feed with a camera picker, Start Preview / Stop Preview, and a row of Stream layout buttons (Auto, Full, Lower third, Overlay, PIP, Camera) that set how the current slide is composited onto the stream. A pulsing red border and a LIVE or REC badge appear here whenever you're streaming or recording. An audio input meter sits underneath.
  3. Slide Picker (right) — the slides for whichever item is selected in the Service Order, click-to-preview. For a song, a drag-and-drop arrangement editor sits above the slide list — see Songs.

#Adding, removing, and reordering items

Click Add to Service at the bottom of the Service Order panel to open the picker, with tabs for Songs, Scripture, Media, and Blank (black or logo slides). It stays open so you can add several items in a row; each one lands at the bottom of the running order. See Songs, Scripture, and Media for what each tab can do.

You can also:

  • Drag a song or media item straight from its list onto the Service Order to add it.
  • Drag an item within the Service Order to reorder it, or use its ↑ / ↓ buttons.
  • Remove an item with its ✕ button, or right-click it for a context menu (Edit song…, Show slides & arrangement, Move up/down, Remove from service).
  • Double-click a song item to jump straight into its editor.

#Syncing with KERYX Web

Settings → Accounts → KERYX Cloud connects this Mac to your church's KERYX Web account with a one-time 6-digit email code — no keys to manage. Once connected:

  • Services, songs, and their items sync automatically every 60 seconds, in both directions. Whichever side edited a record most recently wins.
  • Media files travel too — uploaded when created here, downloaded (with thumbnails regenerated locally) when they arrive from the web.
  • The Accounts pane shows who this Mac is signed in as and the sync health (Last sync …, or Cloud unreachable since … if the network drops — it backs off and retries automatically rather than hammering a dead connection).
  • Sign out disconnects this Mac; a legacy Supabase URL / key pair is also available as a direct-connection fallback.

See Web planning for what you can do from the browser side of that same sync.
