Running the service
Presenting
Assign the projector and stage displays, put slides on screen, blank the output, and control what the livestream shows.
On this page
This page covers picking which display shows what, how slides actually get onto the projector, blanking the output, and the scenes that control what goes out on the livestream.
Choosing displays
The Edit screen toolbar has two dropdowns:
| Dropdown | Sets |
|---|---|
| Projector | Which connected display shows the congregation-facing output — lyrics, scripture, media, announcements |
| Stage | Which connected display shows the worship team's confidence monitor |
Pick Off to close either output window. KERYX remembers the projector's assigned display and reopens it automatically if the cable is unplugged and reconnected — no need to reassign it mid-service.
Putting slides on screen
There's no separate "go live" screen — whatever you click becomes the live output immediately. Select an item in the Service Order panel, then click any slide in the Slide Picker panel on the right: that slide goes out to the projector (and the stage display, and the stream) right away. The Live Output · Projector preview in the center panel always mirrors exactly what the room sees.
Blank, clear, and black
Two buttons sit above the Live Output preview:
- Black — cuts the projector to black.
- Logo — shows your church logo (set in Settings → General → Church logo) instead.
There's no separate Clear button on the desktop — clicking any slide in the Slide Picker automatically drops the override and resumes normal output. (The phone companion does show an explicit Clear button while an override is active — see Companion.)
Scenes: what the livestream shows
Slides going to the projector and the livestream are two different things. The Stream layout row (below the Stream Preview) picks how the current slide is composited over the camera for people watching online:
| Layout | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Auto | KERYX picks automatically based on what's on the projector — words go out as a lower third over camera, media/messages go full-frame, and an idle/blanked screen just shows camera |
| Full | The slide fills the whole stream frame, full-frame slides only (no camera) |
| Lower third | The camera fills the frame with a band across the bottom carrying the whole slide, every line |
| Overlay | The slide's text renders full-frame directly over the live camera (transparent background) |
| PIP | The slide appears in a small picture-in-picture box over the camera |
| Camera | Camera only, no slide content |
| Starting soon | The announcements deck loops over the live camera (85% opacity by default) with a "Service starting soon" tag. Pick it before the service. |
| Be right back | The church logo card with "We'll be right back". The stream's sound is muted (the recording too) until you pick another layout. An Audio muted tag shows in the top bar. |
Auto is the default and usually right — it's what lets you build the whole service without thinking about the stream layer at all. Switch to a manual layout only when you want to override that for a moment (e.g. forcing Camera during an unscripted moment, or Full to feature a video without the camera picture-in-picture).
What the stage display shows
The stage output is a confidence monitor for the worship team, separate from what the congregation sees:
- The service title and a live clock across the top.
- The current slide, large, labelled On Screen.
- The next slide queued underneath, labelled Next (or End of service once there's nothing left).
- A prominent warning banner — "Screen is black/logo — congregation can't see lyrics" — whenever the projector is blanked, so the team knows the room isn't seeing the words even though the stage monitor still shows them.
